Ramin B asked:

Assuming a TV Network uses Satellite Broadcasting for its viewers. The question is whether the Network may track the time and number of viewer of its programs at all time?

Yes,they also can check what and when you view, that is
why they like you to have your phone line connected
so they can phone your box up for info also.

No. TV networks still use Nielson reports (sampling those who are Nielson families) to determine viewership. Nielson families get their TV from a variety of sources: satellite, cable, over the air.

In some cases Tivos now report viewership data, but it is in combined format, not by individual user.

The phone line for a standard satellite receiver is for billing purposes. It does not report what you are watching.
