Does Sirius Sattelite Radio still get good signal no matter where you are?

Does being indoors or in rural areas effect Sirius Satellite Radio. I live in rural Connecticut and there are lots of trees and intense weather. Would that effect how well the signal comes in? I do not own one yet by the way.
