How do I program my Sharp LCD remote with Directv?

I just bought the LC-C6554U, Sharp Aquos LCD TV. I was able to get my Directv remote to work for both the receiver and TV, but I cannot get the Sharp remote to control the Directv receiver. Which remote is better to use? In the TV manual, it gives codes to program to certain VCR’s and DVD’s, but nothing for my DirecTv HD DVR.
Any suggestions?

Negative. The sharp remote is only for the television. The directv remote is for the directv receiver and the television. As such you can program other externals to the directv remote
