Is a career as a satellite tv installer secure and profitable?

April 23rd, 2009

Eric B asked:

I am currently in the middle of making a career change. I have been given the opportunity to be a satellite tv installer. Also I have been given the opportunity to train for a CDL. I’m stuck! I need to know that the choice i make has a secure future with the opportunity to make decent money without having to turn around 5 years from now looking for a job?

    Eric,

It can be if you are with the right company providing you with a lot of work and you dont mind climbing on a roof. The best thing about being a satellite tv installer is the freedom it provides and all the people you meet, rich or poor. You wont be able to meet as many people if you drive trucks like my father did, plus you’ll be sitting in a truck all day.

If you want to get local jobs you should join the SatHookup Network which is a group of local satellite installers and retailer nationwide:

Good luck with your decission, it is a great skill to pick up as everyone watches TV - you will become the most popular guy out of all your friends !
