The 169time HDVR upgrade fulfills your search for the missing link by connecting the digital HDTV signal in your receiver to recording devices. Better than HD-Tivo or Dish 921 since you can use your compatible existing HDTV satellite receiver to record HDTV to tape or disks for long term storage not limited by a hard drive space. This 169time HDVR firewire upgrade interface circuit is installed by skilled technicians at 169time’s office. To upgrade your box, order this item. You will receive a confirmation email with instructions to send your receiver to 169time’s office for prompt installation turnaround. Photos are the firewire outputs on the rear of a typical receiver, and the internally installed upgrade circuit board that most users never see except for the firewire jacks. Compatible DVHS HDTV VCR recorders (not included) are made by JVC, Mitsubishi, and Marantz. PC computer based recording is also possible using PCI firewire cards and software available elsewhere. This upgrade requires and is used in conjunction with your AVX1 PC processor that makes the signal compatible with recording devices. Many users make their own AVX1 using an older PC. The AVX1 self booting disk is included with this upgrade. Also from 169time are complete packages with an AVX1, firewire upgrade, and satellite receivers with firewire outputs pre-installed. A few models are available for self install by highly qualified users (shown with * in the list below), but most models require installation at the 169time factory.
