HD Alliance Wants Satcasters' Business
iBiquity Digital the company that developed HD Radio technology the HD Digital Radio Alliance sent a letter to the Federal Communications Commission requiring XM and Sirius to make radio sets accessible to HD radio broadcasts as a condition of the proposed satellite merger. In addition the alliance reiterated iBiquity’s demand that the satcasters end their exclusive deals with automakers which it says stymies competition and consumer choice.
