Open Question: very hard trig question?
a clock is centred on the origin and has a minute hand that is 5cm long (from centre to end) and an hour hand that is 3cm long.
initially at time t=0 it is midnight (precisely). let xm(t), ym(t) be the x and y coordinates of the end of the minute hand at time t where both x and y are measured in cm and t is measured in minute.
let xh(t) and yh(t) be the x and y coordinates of the end of the hour hand at time t (where both x and y are measured in cm and t is measured in minutes
now find the formula/rule for the distance D(t) between the ends of the hands in the form
D(t) = ?[A+Bcos((2 x 11 x ?/12 x 60)t)] (not sure why they didnt simplify it)
Help would be very much appreciated thanks
