Why does my XM Roadie2 suddenly not turn on?

I was given a XM Roadie2 that was tested and “powered on” in December. I am now trying to set up the complete system. The Roadie@ will ot “power on” when either using both the in home 6v power adapter or the car power adapter. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?
